National Misison on SME Enablement

MSMEs could possibly be the great equalizer that India needs in order to achieve the goals of inclusiveness such as employment generation, poverty reduction, group equality and regional balance. The MSME sector contributes 9 per cent of GDP and is the most crucial link between India’s economic growth and socio-economic progress. It is estimated that in terms of value, MSME sector accounts for about 45 per cent of the manufacturing output and around 40 per cent of the total exports of the country. But, policies and programmes often tend to overlook this crucial sector.

The objective of the Mission is to bring industry expertise to bear on various facets of inclusive growth of India including Financial, Social and Digital Inclusion & addressing issues and concerns of MSMEs viz. Credit/Loan, Government Scheme/ Policy Awarness, Tax Benefits, Skilled Labour/ Manpower, Search of New Market, Process Automation, Use of ICT, Trading Barriers etc.

CAII focusses on getting the policy issues and playing field issues straightened with interest of the nation and common sense being overarching drivers. It encompasses areas including sustainability, corporate social responsibility and corporate governance amongst its guiding principles.

“Our business has been in existence for last 2 years and to expand it we needed a loan of 10 lakhs. When we approached PNB bank they asked us for financial statements of last three years which we could not present. At SKOCH Summit I got an opportunity to interact with Hon’ble Minister Shri Venkaiah Naidu and was able to put forward my concerns regarding troubles faced in getting loan amount sanctioned under MUDRA Yojna. The Minister ensured that his office will look into the matter and the issue would be addressed at the earliest”
