Former Secretary, Urban Development, GOI

M Ramachandran, PhD and MPhil in economic planning from University of Glasgow, UK, is former Secretary, Urban Development to Government of India and Distinguished Fellow and Principal Advisor to the Skoch Development Foundation. He has handled several national and international assignments. He was the First National Officer selected to be on deputation to United Nations Development Program (UNDP), India during 1986-1992. more

Rajesh Skukla
Institute for Human Development

Rajesh Skukla is Professor at Institute for Human Development. has a PhD in statistics and has worked with National Council of Applied Economic Research (NCAER) for over 18 years. He is thoroughly conversant with designing, creating, and extracting value from primary and secondary data based socio-economic studies (baseline, impact evaluation and longitudinal). He has executed over 30 national level studies covering a range of topics such as household income, expenditure and saving; Income Distribution and Inequality; Financial Inclusion; Tourism; Science and Technology; Public Understanding of Science; Indian Youth; and Energy. He has authored 11 books and more than 30 national research reports. He is part of the collaborative research on ‘Construction of Global Indicators of Science and Technology’ at the London School of Economics since 2002.

Deepak B Phatak
Professor, IIT-Bombay

He is Subrao M Nilekani Chair Professor at Indian Institute of Technology-Bombay, India. He graduated in Electrical Engineering from Indore and then completed his MTech and PhD in Computer Science. He is with IIT Bombay since 1971 He served in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering till January 2000 and was the Department head from 1991 to 1994. He also served as the first Dean of Resource Development for IIT Bombay from 1995 to 1998. more

Former Managing Director, NABARD

K G Karmakar, PhD, was Managing Director of National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD). With over 30 years of professional experience as an executive in various banking and financial institutions such as State Bank of India, Reserve Bank of India and NABARD, Dr Karmakar has specialised in agriculture/rural credit, corporate planning, micro-credit, project management and rural infrastructure development. He has many publications to his credit such as: Agricultural Project Management for BankersRural Credit and Self-Help Groups and Microfinance in India. He has published more than 60 articles related to rural credit and rural development, some of which has been presented in national and international seminars.​

V N Alok is as Associate Professor of Public Finance, Indian Institute of Public Administration, New Delhi, since March 2008. Prior to that, he was Assistant Professor of Public Finance at IIPA. His special interest area include, Public Sector Management, Fiscal Decentralisation, Fiscal Federalism, Urban Finance, Local Governance, including municipal and Panchayat finances, Metropolitan Governance, Tax Reforms, Value Added Tax, Devolution Index and Public Service Delivery.

Former Chief Income Tax Commissioner, Government of India

R K Bajaj is former Chief Income Tax Commissioner, Government of India. Besides holding key positions at various levels in the Income Tax department and federal government of India, he has had a long and strong association with Direct Tax Reforms in India.
